Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Therapy

MBSR brings together a mindfulness meditation and yoga practice. MBSR is a training with potential benefits for everyone. MBSR is ideal for cultivating greater awareness of the mind and body connection, as well as unconscious thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that fuel emotional, physical, and spiritual health. MBSR is a continual practice of living in the present moment and having awareness with yourself and within your life reflecting towards others.

MBSR helps with all life experiences and events and can significantly decrease symptoms of:

  • traumatic experiences
  • everyday life stress/chronic or toxic stress
  • anxiety/panic attacks
  • depression/suicide prevention
  • communication/conflict resolution
  • parenting stress
  • chronic pain in the body
  • hormonal changes
  • ADHD/ADD
  • emotional Regulation/ Impulse control
  • obsessive compulsive Disorders
  • and so much more

How it helps: MBSR helps to put space between ourselves and our reactions, breaking down our conditioned responses and preventing unpleasant reaction toward something or someone. MBSR can enhance present-moment awareness, create safety and healing, reduce stress, enhance focus, increase self-compassion/self-esteem, and strengthen a person’s ability to self-regulate. Mindfulness is not about quieting the mind, or attempting to achieve a state of eternal calm. It is more about simply paying attention to the present moment, without judgement.
